Gift Guides

I’ve always loved homemade gifts. They feel extra special because you know they took time to create – no matter how simple! 1. Baked Goods – @halfbakedharvest

Baked goods are one of my favorite things to receive. Whether you’re a seasoned or seasonal baker, this a great way to bring a smile to someone’s face. You can bake in bulk and address several recipients at once. We are regular visitors to Tieghan Gerard’s blog, Halfbaked Harvest – and not just for desserts! Your mouth will be watering before you even pull out the ingredients. Don’t forget to set aside a few treats to munch on yourself, too!

2. DIY Clay Bowls – @seekinglavenderlane

These are a really cute and simple DIY that can be used in so many different ways. You could even apply your own unique painted designs or use colored clay to add a little flare to your bowls!

3. Homemade Vanilla Extract – @brepurposed

I’ve already ordered my supplies to make homemade vanilla this year. Until I saw @brepurposed and @darylanndenner post about making homemade vanilla I had no clue you could DIY this. You can even experiment with crafting your own unique flavors for one-of-a-kind bakes!

4. DIY Flaxseed Warming Pillow – @anoregoncottage

This is perfect for experienced or beginner sewers! A warming pillow with flaxseed is multi-purpose and could even be frozen for cool relief. What a sweet way to say “take care of yourself” to your giftee.

5. Seeds – @growing.in.the.garden

I love the idea of sharing something you’ve grown. If you’re a gardener, you’ve likely already harvested some (or all) of your seeds for the season. Package them up in envelopes or jars and gift away!

6. DIY Essential Oil Room Spray – @jojotastic

Room sprays make for a great gift! The cool thing about these is you can customize the strength and concoction of oils to your, or your giftee’s, liking. These are also a thoughtful addition to a guest bedroom or bathroom so your guests can envelope themself in a soothing aroma!

7. Propagated Plants – @paperandstitch

This is another great one for those who have a green thumb! It’s surprisingly easy to propagate plants. A lot of times it’s just a matter of clipping extra growth at the right spot and growing roots in water. Within a few weeks you’ll have plant babies that are great for potting and gifting. I love to propagate spider plants, pothos and split leaf philodendron!

8. Pet Bandana – @_hollyandco

Bandanas make a fun accessory for pets, but they’re great for humans, too! You could buy fabric or repurpose old blankets, shirts, etc. you might have laying around.

9. DIY Art – @cuckoo4design

We’re all artists. You don’t have to be an expert to make something beautiful! Julia from Cuckoo 4 Design has an awesome art DIY than anyone can create and gift. I love how simple the brush strokes are and how it can be customized to fit with any decor style.

10. DIY Stovetop Potpourri Jars – @boxwoodavenue

I just discovered simmer pots this summer and it’s safe to say I’m obsessed. It’s such a lovely way to fill your home with a beautiful, seasonal aroma. The jars can be made in bulk and, when they’re not in use, look pretty on display!
